All the information about Southport including things to do & a visitor guide. Southport lies on the Irish sea coast in North West England, just 17 miles north from Liverpool and 15 miles south from Preston on the southern side of the mouth of the Ribble estuary. About The Area

Its got fantastic train links to Liverpool (45 minutes) and Manchester (75 minutes) with trains running from the town on a regular basis and the Liverpool John Lennon Airport just a 45 minute drive away.

Things to do and see in Southport are largely focused on family entertainment but people of all ages will enjoy what it has to offer. The historic Southport pier features is the second longest seaside pier in the country and has its very own tramway, and the main street through the town, Lord Street, was once home to Napoleon III of France – which can be seen in the French inspired architecture still in place on the street.
